MEET THE ARTIST.
Howdy Yall! I’m Brilynne.
I was born and raised in Louisiana (thank you Jesus) and now live in Charleston, where I spend most of my time painting, digging through antique stores, listening to 90s country and occasionally some Boosie way too loud, while finding inspiration in the kinds of things most people pass by. I’ve had a paintbrush in my hand since I was little bitty, so creating has always just been second nature to me.
A lot of who I am is tied to the things I love. Im a big Jesus fan, and an old soul, so old country music, roadside antique shops, books with bent pages, cowboy boots, and movies like 8 Seconds that somehow still makes me cry everytime I watch it. If Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., or Ella Langley are playing somewhere in the background, I’m probably exactly where I want to be.
Most of my work starts with a feeling or inspiration before it starts with an idea. Usually it’s something pulled from music, a memory, a conversation, or just a moment or feeling that sticks with me longer than it should. I’m drawn to things that feel true and lived in — texture, imperfections, emotion, and pieces that have a little grit to them.
I don’t want my work to feel overly polished or perfect. I want it to feel real. Like something with a story behind it.
More than anything, this is just a reflection of all the things I love, what I’m inspired by, and the way I see the world. I’m really glad you’re here, and I hope you find something that you love.
